On March 11th, 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake struck subsequently unleashing a destructive tsunami causing unparalleled damage and agonizing loss of life along the northeast coast of Japan. Quick to react was the UK-based Independent Creative Movement compiling a three-volume benefit compilation series titled Punk4Japan featuring over 120 underground bands all throwing down for Japan! With so many first responders coming from the foreign front, Pacifiction Records decided to gather numerous Japanese bands for a homegrown comp to add to the relief efforts. While a lot has been done since the days after the quake, there are is still much work to do. All proceeds from HEAL THE COAST: A Homespun Tsunami Benefit will be donated directly to the Japanese Red Cross Society for the continuing efforts to clean up areas still in ruins and help those still in need. Any question, concerns or requests for donation receipts can be directed to: info(at)pacifictionrecords.com. This is a limited release and will no longer be available after May 31, 2012.

TRACK LIST:
PACIFICTION REVIEW:HEAL THE COAST: A Homespun Tsunami Benefit consists of various Japanese indies bands coming together to contribute to the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami relief effort. Pacifiction Records culled bands from some of the current underground scenes from around Japan ranging in style from garage to punk, ska, Irish and even some psychobilly sounds. Also invited were several foreign bands from the UK, North America and Taiwan that have toured Japan and who have strong ties to the local scene. Special thanks are in order to TAKUMiX at Modernedge Records and The Japanese Bastard from UNCLEOWEN MUSIC for their song donations. All proceeds from HEAL THE COAST go to the Japanese Red Cross Society. It is a limited release and will no longer be available after May 31, 2012, so get it now and help the people of Japan get a step closer past this agonizing tragedy. HEAL THE COAST: A Homespun Tsunami Benefit began as a brainstorm in collusion with the Independent Creative Movement, an underground collective based in the UK that has released the benefit series Punk4Japan. We at Pacifiction Records recommend purchasing those diverse and raucous downloadable relief albums as well. |
