About the Band

THE DREXEL

At the forefront of the Tokyo neo-rockabilly scene you will find THE DREXEL. They've been playing real rock 'n' roll the way Johnny Cash, Gene Vincent and Eddi Cochran invented it, alongside Japanese bands like THE RIZLAZ and STOMPIN' RIFF RAFFS since forming several years ago. In 2009 the band was invited by THE DEADLY VIBES to join the Rock 'n' Roll Circus event in Taiwan for a real Oriental bop! Since cutting their first record in 2009, THE DREXEL continue to rave on!

PACIFICTION REVIEW:

THE DREXEL's first recording is a pure honky tonk locomotive speeding out of the current Japanese neo-rockabilly movement. From the chugging drive of "Old Moss Back" to the rock 'n' roll epiphany of the the title track, this mini-album incites Teddy Boys and greasers of all walks to rave on. THE DREXEL also do up the Bobby Robert's Sin Alley rarity "Big Sandy!" Well, If you can't find that woman, definitely grab hold of this CD before you die!
