THE INDEX

A classic Japanese punk band from Osaka, THE INDEX formed in the mid-80's alongside seminal hardcore band GARLIC BOYS. They have been steadily releasing material for well over two decades and their recent home is at Hamamatsu's punk label Modernedge Records.

Having hit the studio steadily for nearly the past 25 years, THE INDEX explode on their latest effort "Proud, Confidence And Thanks" with an intensity that shows their experience as much as their power as an anthemic punk band in the local scene to this date. The album is a volatile mix of gravelly street punk with CLASH-style embellishments and the seriousness of more sturdy British oi bands, yet remaining particularly rooted in the Japanese punk scene of the 80's that spawned them.
