One of the recent bands to rise out of the remains of Taiwan's first wave of punk from the early millennium, ANGRY YOUNG MAN demostrate the frustration of growing up in a scene dictated by fashion and overrun by mainstream western pop punk. ANGRY YOUNG MAN go back to the roots of punk and dredge up something that will hopefully infect others on the island.

TRACK LIST:
PACIFICTION REVIEW:Finally a Taiwanese punk band that goes back to 1977, steps up to the early hardcore of the 80's and screams it all out in Chinese in songs that barely cover a minute. Expect the right amount of distorted power chords, paranoid bass lines and frantic vocals to prove these kids from the Taipei punk scene have matured into angry young men. The final track is a not-to-be-missed cover of THE RAMONES' classic "Pet Cemetary," but with convoluted Chinese lyrics. ANGRY YOUNG MAN are the best in the way of classic punk Taiwan has seen yet. |
