Forming in 2004 amidst a rise in post-rock sounds, SELFKILL appeared on the Lobo Vol. 2 Taiwan indie compilation. They continued to record and released their first album in 2006 while collaborating on a cinematic music video 媽媽我考試考100分 using metaphoric imagery for life in Taipei. Indeed much of SELFKILL's style is darkly cinematic and esoteric in its interpretation.
